Personal Bests (PBs) are a big part of the SLAC experience, and we love celebrating the moments when athletes improve their skills and achieve something new. As the season progresses, PBs naturally become harder to earn - which makes each one even more special.
Athletes receive a medal and certificate when they reach key PB milestones:
Bronze - First 5 PBs
Silver - First 15 PBs
Gold - First 25 PBs
Not every athlete will reach these milestones, and that’s completely okay. Every child progresses at their own pace, and we celebrate effort, improvement and enjoyment just as much as the medals themselves.
MORE INFORMATION TO COME.
Multi‑Day points are calculated using the Alberta Youth Athlete Scoring System, which allows athletes in different events to be compared fairly across a combined‑event format. All results and points are generated through ResultsHQ. Younger athletes will be scored by a modified system, due to the range available on the alberta scoring system. Medals will be awarded to the Age Champion for each age group based on their Multi‑Day points total on the day.
The Championship Day brings all athletes together for a fun, competitive finish to the year, with ribbons, and medals awarded based on performance on the day. Athletes earn points in each event according to their placing, and these points are added together to determine the overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd place athletes in each age group for both boys and girls. To be eligible for an overall award, athletes must complete all events offered throughout the day. Individual event ribbons are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, and all results are recorded through ResultsHQ to ensure accuracy. Championship Day is designed to celebrate achievement, effort and sportsmanship, recognising both standout performances and the growth each athlete has shown across the season.
