The LAVic Regional and State Relay Carnivals are a fantastic opportunity for athletes from U9 to U17 to compete as part of a team, represent SLAC, and experience a higher level of competition in a fun, supportive environment. Relays are all about teamwork, encouragement and Centre spirit, and they’re a highlight of the season for many athletes.
LAVic Regional Relay Carnivals will be held on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd of November 2026.
SLAC athletes can compete in the Gippsland Country Region Relay Carnival, with the location for this season still TBC.
All Regional Relay events act as qualifiers for the State Relay Championships.
State Relay Championships will be held at Lakeside Stadium on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th of December 2026.
To participate in the Coles Region Relay Carnivals, athletes must:
Be a fully registered, financial LAVic competitive member in their correct age group by the closing date and time of entries.
Have participated in at least one week of LAVic‑approved competition during the qualifying period.
The qualifying period begins at the start of the Track & Field season and concludes at the closing date of entries for the Region Relay Carnival. Only competitions organised by an affiliated Centre, Region or LAVic count as approved competition.
Relay qualification is based on team performance at the Regional Relay Carnival.
There are no minimum performance standards required to enter Region Relays.
Uniform rules are strictly enforced at all Region and State Relay Carnivals.
