Sale Little Athletics Centre (SLAC) is a vibrant, family‑friendly club for children aged U6 to U17. Since being founded in 1968 by Wes Heywood, SLAC has been a proud part of the local community and home to many emerging young athletes. We welcome every child, no matter their ability, and provide a fun, inclusive and child‑safe space to enjoy outdoor athletics and chase new personal bests. While competition is available for those who want it, our focus is on fun, participation and helping each athlete grow. Learn more about our history here.

SLAC runs entirely on volunteers, and our community spirit is at the heart of everything we do. Every committee member donates their time, and a great deal of work happens behind the scenes to make sure our meet days are smooth, safe and enjoyable for all families. With around 100 - 120 little athletes joining us each season, we rely on the support of parents and caregivers to help events run well and to create a positive, welcoming environment for every child. We proudly embrace the core values of Little Athletics Victoria - Family, Fun and Fitness - and encourage each athlete to focus on their own progress and personal bests, not just winning.
